Introducing the New DOD 2! The accurate canine ovulation test that you can do yourself. As the authorized Draminski Partner for North America, PetTech Solutions’ promises the original, authentic & fully supported Draminski Ovulation Detector with exclusive savings for Canadian Kennel Club Members.
From the lost opportunity of a missed pregnancy to ongoing and costly blood tests, wasted semen, and the stress, expense and travel involved in repeat mating attempts, the costs are high when ovulation is missed.
Extremely cost-effective, the device pays for itself with one breeding. Used correctly, you can confirm with confidence that ovulation is forthcoming within 24 – 48 hours.
The Dog Ovulation Detector makes it easy, affordable and helps determine precisely when to mate.
The device measures the electrical impedance of your bitch’s vaginal fluid which increases in a unique trend with each bitch prior to ovulation.
When used consistently as prescribed, this proven method of over 25 years effectively tracks timing when following the LH surge and progesterone levels are at their optimum to indicate when appropriate to proceed with insemination.
In canines, 48 hours following the LH surge, ovulation occurs, after which eggs require 48 hrs. post ovulation for oocyte maturation to occur. Typically allowing for a brief 3 day window of maximum fertility.
Research shows that the peak and decline in readings using the Ovulation Detector occurs two days following the LH surge. The device readings will reach their highest point and start to decline about two days after this at the time of ovulation and it is recommended to inseminate 24 hours (48 at the latest) of this peak and decline in results for the best results.

Impedance as a method for determining ovulation in dogs has a long history of successful use. A proven method used for breeding foxes starting in the 1980’s, it was put to the test in the early 1990’s for use with dogs. Review one study showing the powerful relationship between electrical resistance of vaginal mucous and ovulation in bitches. Research conducted at the Dept. of Obstetrics, Reproduction & Reproductive Disorders, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Trakia University/ Dept. of Immunobiology of Reproduction, Institute of Biology & Immunology of Reproduction, Sofia, Bulgaria – Published 2014
