FarmTech Solutions’ will help you detect mastitis before a break out so that you can ENSURE THE HEALTH OF YOUR HERD AND MAINTAIN PROFITABILITY – without the need for costly interventions.
Considered one of the costliest diseases in terms of production losses, mastitis infections have serious economic consequences for producers. Sub-clinical mastitis, where visible abnormalities such as udder swelling, hardness of the affected quarter, pain, and watery milk remain absent result in reduced yields, loss of milk value and increased labour and treatment costs.
Sub-clinical states of mastitis are particularly dangerous. In this state, milk looks normal and the udder or quarter affected appears healthy. Sub-clinical mastitis can rapidly become clinical mastitis or can continue at sub-clinical levels, affecting milk production, milk quality, and spreading infection to other animals. Sub-clinical infections can remain unnoticed and render huge losses in quantity as well as quality of milk yield.
FarmTech Solutions’ line of early mastitis detection products quickly tell the difference between healthy and infected udders and let you catch sub-clinical mastitis in its earliest, visually undetectable stage.
Acute (visible) mastitis can be just the tip of the iceberg. While it may be obvious that the red cow has mastitis, accurate testing will reveal several sub-clinically infected cows.

The electronic mastitis detector measures changes in the electrical resistance of milk, as the development of sub-clinical mastitis (asymptomatic stage) is accompanied by an increase in salt levels in milk, the electrical resistance changes.
This rule is considered to be the most reliable indirect test in diagnosing sub-clinical mastitis. The end benefit is that you can scientifically detect mastitis well before any obvious outward symptoms.
